During a visit to San Diego, I began collecting eucalyptus leaves, knowing I could do some interesting things with them, and here’s one example. (Eucalyptus is native to Australia, and they do particularly well in the San Diego area.)

I used hand-painted papers as my background and then placed a single leaf on top. I especially like the mottled texture of the leaf.

Note: This same image is available with the leaf in a vertical format — same leaf, just rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Couldn’t decide which one I liked better!
